The 2010 trip to D.C. is off to a good start. The flight, although early, was relatively smooth and we got into town pretty quickly after landing in Baltimore. After grabbing some lunch we had a guided tour of the Capitol, courtesy of Congressman Brett Guthrie. It was my first time visiting the Capitol and I really enjoyed it. The architectural detail was amazing, and everyone learned a great deal about the history of the building. After our tour we went to Union Station, which was also a neat place.
The weather was a bit of a setback today. Naturally it was cold, but the gusting winds made it feel about 10-15 degrees colder than it actually was. In addition, you can still see the effects of the recent snowstorm, as there are areas in the city where the snow is piled 6-8 feet high on the side of the road.
The big day is tomorrow, as CPAC starts bright and early, with Marco Rubio of Florida serving as the first speaker. Check back often for updates.
