Bachmann for President

This is not to say that I fully support her, but just to bring up the idea that she might run.

Minnesota Representative Michele Bachmann was the keynote speaker to open CPAC 2011. She was well received by the crowd. Congresswoman Bachman’s speech included her usual Tea Party Rhetoric, which the crowd was enthusiastic about. She spoke in a candid manor, which I always support.

Toward the conclusion of her speech Mrs. Bachman offered the crowd a free drink on her. After the last speaker many people in our group went to meet the congresswoman and get the free drink she offered. The line to the room was long, and along our route we discovered that we would not get the drink in the room, instead in the bar. We also found out, not only would we meet Mrs. Bachman, she was also taking pictures with everyone. Her staffers gave out a sheet of paper, that asked for name and contact information. Upon receiving this, Political Consultant Timothy Gilliam of Kennedy-Gilliam Consulting Firm (http://www.kennedygilliam.com/), explained that he thought Mrs. Bachman is gearing up to run for president. I, being a curious person, asked why. Mr. Gilliam with his immense background in politics, explained to me that she wanted to take pictures and get them to people who didn’t live in her district, or even her state for that matter. He said the reason was that she has ambitions to run for president in 2011. I agree with Mr. Gilliam. After she gained much national popularity for Leading the Tea Party, and her rebuke to President Obama’s State of the Union Address she is definitely gaining enough popularity and name recognition needed to run. I suppose the future will tell us whether or not she will run.

FYI: I did enjoy the free Sam Adams, who wouldn't.
