Today was a day that deeply convicted me and made look at my life as a whole. I have to admit to you readers that I am a follower of Christ. I serve as a Youth Pastor at a church in Franklin Ky. But do not let that stop you from continuing on with my post, please hear me out about what I am going to say. I am not going to try to convict you or try to convert you in this post, I just want to be real about who I am as a person and politically.
A few of us went to a session called "Saving Freedom in Urban Centers" and during this session a lady named Star Parker spoke. She was a lady who for many years lived in poverty with her family and lived off welfare for many years. She then made the statement that when she came to faith in Jesus Christ that her life began to change and she started to get things on track. She now is a spokes person for Urban renewal and Education. She made me really think about myself because she talked about how more people are likely to switch to Islam because they are trying to produce jobs and help people in the inner cities. After this i really got to thinking and actually wrote some notes in my I-touch so I am going to write that out below this.
What the world needs is a world where they can go and see that people truly care and that people are willing to help. Not these fake promises that we tell them but honest truth. Give a person a job and they are more willing to listen to what they have to say more so then just giving them a meal. Give a person a meal he will be hungry later but give him a job he will have money to buy a meal later. If the Bible says to Love Your Neighbor then I think we need to love them in such a way that they can truly provide for their families.
I have to admit that in my eyes the one thing I believe the world needs is Jesus. I honestly hope they seek out Christ because if they truly seek Him they will find Him. But i have to admit that I believe the world would be more willing to hear something I say if i truly show them I care. I am not sure I would ever run for a Political Office but if did I would have to admit that Jobs would be something I would be looking to help people with. If you give someone a Job thats not use to having one then you may never hear them complain about you again. Because you truly helped them out with what they needed and thats an income to provide for their loved ones.
