Merina: 2nd Day of CPAC Trip, 1st Conference day
Today was filled with a lot of new experiences for me, as I have never been to either CPAC nor any other political conference. I learned a lot today about Obama among many other things. I heard a plethora of speakers and also attended the conservative fair in the lower part of the conference center. Among the speakers, the speaker I liked the most was acctually the one who wasn't even printed in the program surprise guest Donald Trump. As he proceeded through his section of words he announced his possible interest in wanting to run for president. I thought his delivery throughout it all was raw and uncut to say the least. Raw to the tune of publicaly announcing that Rand Paul will never attain election for presidency. The crowd was in an uproar the most excited I'd seen them the entire day, and there after there were a few other insidents that happened with booing, commenting and shouting. I honestly don't know what to think about that. I just felt I guess that it was a bit overzealous on some of the audiences part. I could tell they were fired up about the issue but I wasn't expecting them to be so verbal in the most negative way about it. I'm learning the ways that a conservative thinks and goes about things defiantly. There were many others that spoke, and I had no idea who they were but ones that I did recognize were Mitch McConnell, Rand Paul and Michele Bachmann. The biggest topic that was common among all speakers was Obama's Health Care Bill. I'll admit I'm no political guru, so I had no idea about the numbers aspect concerning the national debt. I would never have thought it was into the trillions let alone how much of it was caused by the Obama administration. It raises questions for me on how tax money is disbursted and how government spending is really being done. I always considered politics to be a game where everybody wants you on one side or the other. A sort of tug-o-war for power with no real feeling behind it only greed and money and not really the peoples best interest at heart, but perhaps once this conference is over my views on it will have been interchanged. Today there was a total of 11,000 in attendance! Wow! CPAC defiantly has an impact. Well... Until tomorrow friends
