There were a few great speakers today at CPAC, the most polarizing was no doubt, Ron Paul. Paul made no mistake what he wanted to do, he wants to end the fed, go back to a gold standard and cut off all foreign aid. His speech was made even more interesting by his supporters, who were not at all bashful about where they stood. Herman Cain was by far my favorite speaker of the day. Being an economics person, I have always liked seeing businessmen run for office, I think they have a different (and better) perspective on the economy than politicians, and I think that they appeal to the people more than someone who has spent their career in government. Herman Cain also is a great example of how one can rise out of poverty and do great things in this country. I was truly inspired by his words about his life and his love of this country. Overall another great day at CPAC, and I can't wait for tomorrow.
