Texas, thank you for Rick Perry. You can keep Ron Paul's fans though.

Well, my day one and day two posts are back to back so you're hearing a lot from me. And I have a lot to say today. Friday started out with Mitt Romney and he delivered a wonderful speech. A few of us went to try and find him after the speech and lost track of time. When I realized it was close to 11:30, I made sure we got back to the ballroom to hear Marsha Blackburn, the representative for my district in Tennessee. She mixed up the topic stream with a speech on net neutrality. She is a beautiful woman who is also very intelligent and I really enjoyed what she had to say. I am proud to have her as my representative.

We went downstairs to collect more free things and we noticed a huge crowd, so I went to look what people were so interested and realized it was another one of my favorite youtube sensations...Jimmy McMillen. Also known as Mr. "Rent is too damn high" who ran for New York Governor. The reason I became so interested in him was a video done by a group that makes a youtube series called "autotune the news".

So, I thought it was fun that he was there. He yelled about the rent, as usual, and took off a shoe and raised it in the air saying "Egypt". He was a character.

Julia, Poorvie and I went to hear John Thune and when we left the ballroom for lunch, the hallways were filled with lines waiting for Ron Paul hours before he spoke. Fortunately, we were able to sneak in the room and find seats with the group to experience Ron Paul's speech. His supporters were rowdy as usual, and not the nicest to Tim Pawlenty either. Since they yelled Ron Paul's name during Donald Trump's speech yesterday, Dylan stood up and yelled Donald Trump when Ron came on stage. It was pretty funny. But Ron gave a very passionate speech with many interesting points. His supporters can be a little much.

But, the spirits of Julia and I were lifted when Rick Perry spoke. I was not familiar with Rick before today, but now I have fallen in love. He sounds like George W. and is just adorable overall. So we listened intently and then ran to get his book signed immediately after. He signed my book with a heart and told me it was special and did the same for Julia. The day could not get any better so we went home. :)

  1. The epitome of American politics -- superficiality. Then people wonder why we are in such dire straits. Case in point.

Please evaluate the candidates based on principles, philosophy, economics, and most importantly liberty vice tyranny. Coercion is antithesis to liberty and freedom.

There is a reason we are hostile to traitors of the Constitution -- we want to be free both personally and economically.

    Ron Paul 2012

PS: All political candidates have their fair share of rambuxious supporters. If that was the essence of deciding on whether to support one or the other, you would have to support none. Cheers.

  2. PS: I didn't hear all the Mitt Romney or such and such Neo-Con candidates supporters were rude, last year when Ron got booed. Please be consistent if you are to critique, otherwise you have no basis for complaining.

  3. Ron Paul getting booed has nothing to do with him. It has to do with the fact that his supporters try to shout down anyone besides Ron or Rand. Also, supporters of these other candidates being rude is the exception; Paul supporters being rude is the rule.
